Welcome to my contest~! This is going to be interesting.
Read on to find out the point, the judging, and of course, prizes!


OBJECT

The object of this contest is to draw a picture of one or more of the raver characters listed below in their natural setting -- the rave, of course! There are all different species as to cater to the abilities of the artist, making a more even playing field for the entrants. There are feline, canine, avian, and equine characters, as well as a dragon character on the way. Their references are in my gallery, however, they're nude refs, so I've made these for the convenience of those reluctant to see that sort of thing.

There will be one winner who will be decided by the judges, and one decided by popular vote in a poll on my page.

The contest will end on December 31, 2006, 12:00 AM PST.

Name: Samuel "Toucan Sam" Persburgh

When looking at Sam's weight and then back at his body, you may be scratching your head, puzzled at why such a skinny bird (with bird-hollow bones, at that) is so heavy. The answer lies in his left leg; it's been replaced with a full-titanium replacement after he was in an accident at age 20.

The accident: he went back home and his father blasted his leg with a shotgun, irreparably damaging his bone. It was replaced a month later, forever changing his life. His friends helped him through the hard times, and before anyone would ever had expected, he was back on his feet, hitting the best parties he could find.

Sam's raving style is wing raving; he ties glowsticks into his wingfeathers and moves them to the beat, creating dazzling patterns. He can also hook glowsticks onto his claws for an added effect. His favorite glowstick color is yellow.

Name: Laura "Lightning Lynx" Spencer
Age: 22

You might notice when you first look at her that her breasts are a little uneven, and may be tempted to tell the artist this; that would be a mistake. This is Lightning Lynx, and she has recently had a tumor removed from her breast; she has survived breast cancer. It started out slowly, and then Sam found it; a lump. She and Sam were devastated. But they keep going, and Sam still thinks she's the most beautiful girl in the world.

Lynx's glowstick style is twirling. She twirls faster than anyone she's ever met, and is happy to engage in competition to prove it. Her favorite color of glowstick is green.

Name: William "Wheely Willy" Richmond
Age: 25
Height: 6'3" (standing) 4'3" (in wheelchair)
Weight: 180

William, referred to as "wheely willy", is a muscle-bound, no nonsense husky. Well, his upper body anyway. He has been confined to a wheelchair since an accident in his early years of childhood. He was devastated; all of his favorite sports involved running, or the use of legs. But when his friends took him in, and taught him that he could do something wonderful without using his legs--raving. He got so into it that he forgot he couldn't stand sometimes, because he was just having fun.

Willy's favorite style of raving is something he likes to call "Cards" -- he ties glowsticks into the spokes of his wheels and spins them while he's braked, creating a swirl of color. His favorite color of glowstick is blue.

Name: Christine "Crazy Christie" Harland

Christine, often called "Crazy Christie" has a brain disfuntion called 'Schizophrenia' she thinks she is 4 years old, and acts out strange at times. Raving is like her outlet of frustration. She loves vibrant colors and dispite her dissability she is able to lead a normal life along with her friends.

Christie's style of raving is with battons, she has learned to use the glow sticks in such a manner; she makes it unigue by painting on her hooves, and wearing glow bands and being able to juggle many glowsticks in a fast pase. Her favorite glowstick color is pink.

The contest entries will be judged as follows:

1) Trueness to the character
2) Creativity
3) Effort
4) Individuality
5) Quality

Judging will be by and by and , but should they choose to enter, they cannot opt for their own pieces.
